Eley Photo Intern

As an Intern at EP/EPS, you will have the opportunity to work in a creative environment and assist crew members who are performing a myriad of tasks.  Your primary tasks will involve photo assisting and marketing tasks for the Studio. The ideal candidate has proven success in articulating a concept, sourcing inspiration, shooting, and editing photos, all while managing several tasks and responsibilities at once.  Below are the duties and responsibilities associated with the position:

  1. Social Media Support

We are looking for a Social Media intern to join our closely-knit trema for a two-month internship. This is an amazing opportunity to gain meaningful hands-on experience and skills in the dynamic world of digital marketing. You will have a lot of responsibility, but you will also have ownership and autonomy in cultivating what our social media pages look like, keeping up with the latest trends, interacting with big brands/ models and more.

2. Studio Maintenance

Ensure Studio is cleaned, prepped, and ready for client use

Examine Studio before and after client use for any damages and billing

Stand in as studio manager for bookings as needed

3. Studio Support

Here you will have the opportunity to work and manage a professional studio space.  Paramount for this effort is building successful social media strategies in collaboration with the Social Media Marketing Specialist, encouraging repeat use of the Studio by Clients.

What You'll Do:

Work collaboratively to produce a monthly Newsletter for both EP and EPS.

Work with other members of the creative and marketing teams to execute the brand's goals

Take part in and assist with all facets of creative productions as per client needs.


Skills For Success:
2+ years experience in photography.

Creative ingenuity

High proficiency with the Adobe Creative Cloud Suite, Capture One, Microsoft Office Suite, and Google Suite is a must.

Knowledge of lighting and editing/retouching

Intermediate knowledge of camera operation

Ability to determine lighting requirements for shots

Excellent interpersonal communication skills.

Ability to juggle tasks and manage multiple projects while paying strict attention to detail.

Ability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment.

Sense of ownership and understanding of its impact on the company's success.

Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

The ability to work autonomously and collaboratively.

Eley Photo Studio Assistant

As the studio assistant, you will be the Owner’s right-hand team member. A multi-dimensional function of sorts that will help continue the flow of operations, local tasks, administrative duties, and any of the following. The primary duties and responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:

  1. Strategic Research and Development

Participate in periodic EP/EPS company meetings developing marketing strategies that focus on securing photography sessions in the documentary, advertising, entertainment and healthcare-related fields as well as strategy to keep business generating for the lead creative, Eley. This includes but is not limited to management, research and tracking of prospective and current clients including monthly newsletters, research of client projects and 1:1 emails and call follow-ups. Individuals who are self-motivated, proactive thinkers succeed at meeting these challenges. 

2. Photo Assisting

Provide assistance to both Eley Photo Owner and the crew while on location or in the Studio.

Management of gear.

Supporting lighting needs on set.

Supporting pre and/ or post-production of shoots.

3. Miscellaneous Tasks

The position requires, but is not limited to, the following: 

  • Maintaining equipment

  • Placing and answering phone calls/ emails

  • Running local errands on behalf of the Owner

  • Organizing various documents

  • Scheduling meetings between staff and clients

  • Research, recommendations and implementation strategy on improving relationships with clients

  • Volunteering to support both EP and EPS operations

  • Successfully generating new clients

    4. Technology Competency

Prospective candidate must be proficient in using:

  • Google Suite

  • Microsoft Excel

  • WeTransfer

  • Photoshop

  • SquareSpace

  • Archiving and organizing data

Eley Photo Marketing Specialist

As the company marketing specialist, you play a critical role in the awareness and success of the company and its business growth.  Thinking “outside the box” to make creative use of email campaigns, physical marketing materials, podcasts, video reels, audio segments, etc to promote the use of the Studio and the sale of Eley’s photography services is priority. Below are the essential elements that will be used throughout the course of your activities:

  1. Marketing

Develop and implement unique marketing strategies targeting current and future contacts who use the studio and are CLients of Eley Photography services.

Develop marketing strategies that will increase utilization of the Studio monthly by current or future clients.

Regularly make posts that include text, video, and images to engage the company’s target market.  

Keep up to date on evolving opportunities for social media that can expand the Company..

2. Communication 

Must possess great verbal and written communication skills plus the ability to connect with clients on their level.

Creatively design and write targeted bylines for ads and Clients.  Use verbal skills to provide voice-over commentary for ads developed singularity or collaboratively with other crew members.  Develop marketing kits that inform of the membership options available for the Studio emphasizing its benefits. Connect with local prospective clients, for the intent of sales, that would benefit from renting the Studio space.

3. Creativity

Crafting engaging content which constantly aligns content with customer trends and market changes to entice clients to use the Studio facilities.  Set up and optimize company web pages within each media platform to increase the visibility of the company's social content and Studio capabilities.

4. Technology

Demonstrating competency in using computer skills and tools that analyze marketing platforms and subsequently make use of technology to actively engage clients.  

5. Research & Development

Being able to research and determine the needs of the client and how the Studio and Eley Photography can address their needs is an absolute must.  Skills in recognizing current marketing trends, social media trends, and overlaying new marketing techniques to discover real-time connections and interest of Clients is necessary for this position. Analyzing a Client’s current use of imagery (branding) and then proposing to that company a portfolio of imagery from Eley Photography that matches their focus is essential. 

6. Time Management

In the given role, the ability to organize tasks and meet deadlines is crucial.. You will be responsible for various tasks, including supporting colleagues and managing unplanned jobs resulting from successful Eley Photography marketing initiatives. To excel in this position, you must effectively create and maintain a personal schedule to handle these responsibilities. Here are some key points to consider:


-Prioritize tasks: Assess the importance and urgency of each task and prioritize them accordingly. This will help you allocate your time and resources effectively.

-Create a schedule: Develop a well-structured schedule that includes all the necessary tasks and commitments. Break down larger projects into smaller, manageable tasks and assign specific time slots for each.

-Set realistic deadlines: Consider the scope of each task and the time required to complete it. Set realistic deadlines that allow for adequate time to deliver quality work.

-Use task management tools: Utilize digital or physical tools like calendars, to-do lists, or project management software to keep track of your tasks, deadlines, and progress. These tools can help you stay organized and ensure nothing falls through the cracks.

-Communicate and collaborate: Maintain open lines of communication with colleagues and stakeholders. Keep them informed about project statuses, any potential delays, or changes in priorities. Collaborate with team members to ensure a smooth workflow.

-Adaptability: Recognize that unexpected tasks or changes may arise. Be flexible and able to adjust your schedule and priorities accordingly while keeping the overall objectives in mind.

-Time management techniques: Explore techniques like Pomodoro Technique (working in focused intervals), time blocking (allocating specific time slots for different types of tasks), or similar methods to enhance your productivity and time management skills.

-Regularly review and update: Regularly assess your progress, deadlines, and upcoming tasks. Make adjustments to your schedule as needed to ensure you stay on track and meet your goals.
